Avondale Forest park dates back to the 18th Century and has grown to be home to over 100 species of trees. There are 6 different walking & cycling trails and even an adventure playground to explore.

Treetop Walk
Towering 36metres above the forest floor, enjoy a 1.3km stroll along the Treetop Walkway. Soar through the trees and learn about the birds, animals, trees and plants surrounding you as you go.

Travelling from Glenview Hotel to Beyond The Trees Avondale:
Car – 30 minutes drive – drive yourself, hire a car or book a taxi at reception.
Public Transport – 90 minutes taking a bus, train and a 30 minute walk
Cycling – 2 hours
Walking – we don’t recommend walking but if you insist, make sure to bring one of our Glenview Picnics, it’s going to take you 7 hours!

Accessible travel – if you are looking for good accessibility for buggies, wheelchair users and anyone with limited mobility we recommend Beyond the Trees Avondale where you can soar above the trees to the Treetop Walkway on their fully accessible treetop walkway. Powerscourt House and Gardens is well equipped to offer accessibility to all. Bray Promenade is fully accessible and offers good parking as does South Beach Playground in Greystones which also offers a wheelchair swing and accessible sand factory so as everyone can join in the fun!
