St. Patrick's Day Breaks
at the Glenview Hotel
What better time to visit the Glenview Hotel, than in the midst of all St. Patrick’s Day celebrations – A great way to witness Irish Culture, and the craic had by all!
Idyllically situated on the foothills of the Wicklow Mountains, and only a stone’s throw away from both rural and urban villages and towns, lies the Glenview Hotel.
For entertainment, stick to the coastal villages and towns, where you will be able to visit local parades and pubs.
For a journey into the life of our patron saint, you can travel through the Wicklow Mountains to gain a feel as to what life was like in 5th Century Ireland. Allow your mind to wander as you come across the sheep roaming the bog roads of the mountains, and imagine yourself as a shepherd herding his sheep.
Glendalough, a short drive away, will allow you to visualize life during our patron saint’s years. A great history lesson is to be had for all on St. Kevin, a monk who founded the Glendalough monastery after St. Patrick had brought Christianity over to Ireland.
After your day of being immersed into Irish Culture, don’t forget to stop by our Conservatory Bar and Bistro, to polish off all your St. Patrick’s Day celebrations with some live music and entertainment, and a lovely pint of Guinness.
St. Patrick's Day Parades
One of the main advantages of our location is the close proximity that we have to several towns and villages. This gives our guests a lot of choice when it comes to deciding which St. Patrick’s Day parade to visit.
The top four parades we recommend to our guests are;
Dublin
Bray
Greystones
Wicklow Town
Each very different, yet all as festive as the other – with plenty of trad music to be heard!
There is something magical about watching a parade in a different town or village that gives us all a sense of warmth, seeing another community gather together to celebrate our patron saint.
